35 Dale Street. Our new home.
Okay let’s do this. Let’s go all “official announcement”. I’ve been dipping my toes in the water for a while, like there’s something to be scared of, but I’m pretty sure it’s all in my head - this. is. happening...
Our new, permanent home will finally be up and running by the end of this month. We’re honoured to say we’ll be living at Dale House, on the corner of Dale and Tariff Street. The building itself is beautiful (these photos don’t even do it justice), and the folk behind its new lease of life are lovely.
We’ll have everything we had when we last saw you, plus a whole lot more. The coffee is still up-front and centre, we won’t stop bringing you the best roasters from around the world. No novelty, no pretentiousness, just trying to make you the best tasting coffee we can. PIEdle Hands will be as strong as ever, Lucy has been storing up ideas for far too long now, and she’s itching to be back baking. Expect great things. And of course those brownies and blondies that everyone keeps asking her the recipe for (not happening folks, just come eat them instead).
What’s new? Well we have a proper kitchen for a start. We might have to grow in to that, we don’t want to waste it with just bacon butties and cowboy beans (although they’ll be back for sure), but we probably won’t hit the ground running either as this whole “design, build and open a shop whilst having a brand new baby” thing is pretty full on. We also have a booze licence, which means not only can we celebrate beer o’clock everyday, but we will we be open late on Fridays and Saturdays, and you can expect all sorts of events and evenings along the way. Think back to the exhibitions, launch nights and supper clubs we had back at Station Approach, but this time we’re built for it...can you even recall that far back? I don’t think people had mobile phones or timehop so probably not.
Anyway, we’ll keep you posted on an actual opening date when we figure it out, but until then here’s our future opening times:
Monday - Thursday: 7.30am - 6pm
Friday: 7.30am - 11pm
Saturday: 9am - 11pm
Sunday: 10am - 6pm
Over the last few years we’ve had tonnes of folk express an interest in working with us, but we’ve never been at a point where we’re able to take extra staff on. I’ll try my best to reach out to those I can remember, but in the meantime feel free to send a reminder (or a new request) my way at email@example.com. There’s not much space to start with, but once we’re up and running we hope to assess what we need fast, so if you’re keen let us know, especially if you fancy working in a kitchen.
Hopefully they’ll be some photos of everything coming together over the next few weeks, and then we’ll see you once we’re open!
